BURTON, OHIO – On Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM, the Geauga County Historical Society & the Burton Historic District will feature esteemed guest speaker Mr. Tom Ford. Mr. Ford is retired following a distinguished career spanning twenty-two years as a reporter, editorial writer, and columnist for various newspapers and publications throughout Ohio. His extensive experience includes serving as a Senior Public Information Officer for Cuyahoga County and as the Director of Communications at Hiram College. Originally from Burton, Ohio, Mr. Ford is the son of the esteemed Geauga County Judge Robert Ford and the great-great-grandson of Seabury Ford, who served as Governor of Ohio. This rich family heritage reflects a longstanding commitment to public service and leadership. Currently, Mr. Ford resides in Moreland Hills, where he continues to engage with his community and apply his insights gained from a fulfilling professional journey.

Mr. Ford will be presenting an engaging discussion on the rich history of the Ford family in Ohio. This captivating event will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2025, in the Auburn Church located at the Geauga County Historical Society & Century Village Museum. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the remarkable stories and challenges faced by the Ford family, who played a pivotal role in shaping the town of Burton into what it is today.
